Montblanc City Council has installed the town’s first outdoor physical training park

Montblanc City Council has installed the town’s first outdoor physical training park on the Sòl de l’Horta. These are the so-called callisthenics parks, which promote sports and healthy living in the urban environment. It has been installed on Daroca Street and was a demand from young people, according to a survey carried out by the Conca Youth Office in order to draw up the Montblanc Local Youth Plan.

The most successful and requested variety of callisthenics is the Street workout, which is usually practiced in groups, in parks such as the one installed in Montblanc, taking advantage of the properly located equipment. This callisthenics park is the first to be installed in the Conca de Barberà. This promotes street sports, healthy activities on public roads and fosters community dynamics and values.

The installation of this park in the Sòl de l’Horta has led to a reorganization of public furniture, so that it is better organized throughout the environment. Thus, the picnic area has been located closer to the playground, while this park has been repainted to improve its appearance and conditions.

Therefore, with these interventions, the City Council intends to respond to one of the demands of the young people of the town and, in addition, with the location in the Sòl de l’Horta aims to provide this neighborhood of Montblanc with better services and facilities.
